The art of Natalia LL changed radically in the early 1970s, when the artist clearly defined her artistic attitude and confirmed her close links to the Polish neo-avant-garde movement. This artwork, which dates back to that period, depicts photographs that constitute a key motif in her artistic actions. Its greatest power lies in the ambiguity - the mundane process of eating turns into refined eroticism, whereby the artist is posing a question about the system of signs and codes we use to communicate.
Photographs from the Consumer Art series have been presented both as stand-alone prints, and as parts of combined artworks and photographic objects.
The series has been widely exhibited and reproduced worldwide.
