The Energy of the Fall is one of the most highly acclaimed works Lachowicz ever made. In each of its several versions, Lachowicz is sitting sideways on a chair, with his hand held up, and he is holding or dropping various objects. In addition to demonstrating the relativity of our associations with the fall through the scene, the artist addresses philosophical problems. In the text attached to the images, Lachowicz looks at the fall from various perspectives: as a physical value, a moral value, a rejection of nothingness, an embrace of nothingness, the demise of art, the art of the fall, and finally, the fall of the fall.
